October 7^th, BF No.5 of Dazhou Steel (annual capacity of 1.40Mt ) made its first tapping, marking the successful start-up. The EPC order for the blast furnace was awarded on August 5th, 2009. It takes 13 months from piling till start of operation, setting CISDI s new record for delivering the similar-sized BFs on EPC basis.
